Municipal Lien Certificates

Municipal Lien Certificates may now be requested and paid online through Unipay. 

Municipal Lien Certificate Request

To request a Municipal Lien Certificate from the Town of Princeton, by mail, please include the following information with your request:

Record Name of the property owner
Property address
Parcel identification

To obtain Map and Parcel information, please contact the Assessor’s office at (978) 464-2104.
For any other MLC questions, please contact the Collector’s office, (978) 464-2101.

You must also include with your request:

1. A check made payable to the Town of Princeton in the amount of $25.00 per parcel. ~~If the property owner receives more than one tax bill for the residence, then more than one Municipal Lien Certificate may be required.

2. A stamped, self-addressed envelope.

By Massachusetts law, we have 20 business days from the time the request is received in this office to generate the Municipal Lien Certificate. ~Every attempt is made to shorten that turnaround time, but particularly during vacation and holiday times, or other busy times of the year, it may take the entire 20 days allowed by law to process your request.

Please do not wait until the last minute to request your municipal lien certificate.
