The purpose of the Open Space Committee (OSC) is to create and implement the Open Space and Recreation Plan and subsequent updates. This document is submitted to the Commonwealth every seven years, enabling Princeton to be eligible for grants we would not otherwise qualify for.
Our main areas of emphasis are:
- Conservation and preservation of land that is of public benefit for passive use. This also includes responsible stewardship of our natural resources and maintaining the scenic vistas and beauty of the natural landscape in our town.
- Increasing landowner awareness of land conservation options.
- Develop and promote trails and trail usage in town.
The Princeton Hikes! program is the most visible activity for the OSC in recent years and this website provides the schedule of guided hikes as well as documentation of hikes that have been done in the past in and around Princeton.
