Rutland State Park
Rutland State Park is located on Route 122/122A in the west side of Rutland. There are many gravel roads and trails including a section of both the Midstate Trail (coming from Barre Falls Dam) and the Central Mass Rail Trail. There are also many trailheads/parking areas around and within the park, and several opportunities for loop hikes.
Princeton Hikes have taken several trips to Rutland State Park, including
- Hikes along the Rail Trail from Glenwood Road, Whitehall Road, and Route 122.
- Hike from Barre Falls Dam along the Midstate and other trails to the old Prison Camp (see photo)
The park is open to dogs and bikes.
