Citizen's Caucus
The Citizens’ Caucus to nominate candidates for the May 10th, 2021 Annual Town Election will be held on Tuesday, March 16th, 2021, at 7 PM at the Thomas Prince School Gymnasium.
All registered voters in Princeton are invited to attend. A quorum of 25 registered voters is required to conduct the Caucus. If you would like to be nominated at the Caucus, you must have a fellow Princeton registered voter do so. Those nominated at the Caucus will automatically have their names placed on the May 10th, 2021 Annual Town Election ballot. Two residents may be nominated for each office scheduled for the ballot. Anyone not nominated at the Caucus who intends to run for office may do so by taking out nomination papers from the Town Clerk Office. Signatures of 20 registered Princeton voters are needed to qualify for placement on the ballot.
Nomination papers became available Tuesday, February 23rd, 2021, call or email the Town Clerk’s office to schedule your pickup. Nomination papers must be filed with the Registrars (Town Clerk’s Office) by 5 PM Monday, March 22nd, 2021. The last day to object to nominations or withdraw nomination papers is 5 PM Wednesday, April 7th, 2021.
Nominations may be made for the following offices:
Selectboard – One (1) Three Year Term
Moderator – One (1) One Year Term
Board of Assessors – One (1) Three Year Term
Planning Board – Two (2) Three Year Terms
Trustee of Trust Funds – One (1) Three Year Term
Electric Light Commission – One (1) Three Year Term
Wachusett Regional School Committee – One (1) Three Year Term
Wachusett Regional School Committee – One (1) Unexpired One Year Term
