ROAD ADVISORY COMMITTEE     Meeting Minutes, Mar. 10, 2021 6:00 PM

Administrative:         Unanimous vote to approve minutes for 2-25-2021 meeting as submitted.

Bids for Coal Kiln engineering

Review of the 6 submittals for this project has been postponed to allow for submitters to respond to an amendment. General discussion of amendment (see Referenced Documents:) to clarify that RFQ includes 800” of road widening and design for a retaining wall.

Amendment was edited to include “If you have any questions about this change, contact Highway Superintendent Ben Metcalf.”

Pavement management (vendor presentation)

Art Baker of Indus (indusinc.com) presented an overview of his company’s services and technology. Emphasis is on pavement preservation and the long-term savings incurred by attentive maintenance.

Ball Hill Culvert construction

General discussion of the application to DER for construction. Permitting is place, but MassDOT has not approved the revised plans. The application will be shelved for the 2021 cycle with possible re-consideration in 2022.

TO DO:           Ann will contact DER for verification that approved plans are required for submission.

Sterling Road (in cooperation with Sterling)

Sterling has not yet signed a contract.
