LIST OF TOPICS TO BE DISCUSSED
- Review state election calendar, schedule voting equipment test dates
- Early Voting
- Discuss and approve early voting site (Town Hall) - Location must be designated at least 2 weeks before early voting starts.
- Local election office is default early voting site (if unsuitable or inaccessible, registrars must vote to hold early voting at a different location.)
- Vote to reduce early voting in person hours for state elections (if town has less than 5,000 voters, can vote to reduce hours to 25% of regular business hours)
- Opt out of early voting in person for local annual town election.
- March 5, 2024 presidential primary
- Planned early voting hours during business hours 9am-11am Monday-Thursday (02/26/2024-02/29/2024),
- 02/24/2024 - First day of early voting in person/last day to register to vote/change party. Required weekend hours - at least 4 hours total on the weekend. Anticipated EV hours 9:30am- 1:30pm
- September 3, 2024 state primary
- Planned early voting hours during business hours 9am-11am Monday-Thursday (08/26/2024-08/29/2024),
- 08/24/2024 - First day of early voting in person/last day to register to vote/change party. Required weekend hours - at least 4 hours total on the weekend. Anticipated EV hours 9:30am- 1:30pm
- November 5, 2024 presidential election
- 10/19/2024 - First day of Early Voting in person. Required weekend hours - at least 4 hours total the weekend. Anticipated EV hours 8am- 12pm
- 10/26/2024 - Last day to register to vote. Anticipated EV hours 9:30am-1:30pm.
- Planned early voting hours during business hours 9am-11am Monday - Thursday (10/21/2024-10/24/2024, 10/28/2024-10/31/2024)
- March 5, 2024 presidential primary
- Must publish notice of locations and schedules for EV:
- At least 5 business days before EV starts
- Once during EV period
- Notice must be posted: In Town Clerk/Town Hall bulletin board
- Town website and SOC websites
- Any other public building considered necessary (Public Library, Post Office, Mechanics Hall?)
- Discuss and approve early voting site (Town Hall) - Location must be designated at least 2 weeks before early voting starts.
- Approve 10/24/2023 minutes
- Schedule date for counting out of country ballots for upcoming 2024 elections
- Questions and Schedule next meeting
