Approved prior minutes

New version of disaster recovery plan

  • Pruning sections from template
  • Discussion around redundant hardware
    • Need an inventory of department servers and software hosted there
    • Define the criteria for time to restore
  • Part of a broader plan for the town
  • Define second location for work
  • Is ransomeware supported by the same system, should be with timely backup
  • Identify which risks are prioritized
  • Processes exist for each risk or event

Strategic plan document reformatted

Peter had to support fire department to replace two computers that crashed

  • The failed hardware was older and not a consistent configuration with town hall for example, something we are addressing
  • Another example of needing a periodic hardware refresh cycle

VOIP deployment in the next 6 weeks

Strategic plan priorities for reference

  • Top priority Data Backup
    • Peter recommending use of Datto for continuous backup of server
      • In use in Paxton, decision shortly
      • Peter attended webinar
    • Retention policy for backup data to drive cloud backup implementation
    • Scan and archive paper in current storage, document management system (John)
    • Need to connect highway department
    • Data storage policy and procedure i.e. sync to OneDrive shared folders (Sherry)
      • Documented but not public
    • Laptop re-imaging (also related to disaster recovery)
