Worcester Road Improvement Project Phase 1 Update

On September 20th, Greg Russell of VHB Engineering presented the design plans for the project which includes new sidewalks, crosswalks, signage and drainage improvements to the section of Worcester Road between the northern entrance to PO Place and the PMLD driveway.  This project received grant funding of $498,003 through the MASSDOT Complete Streets Program. Once the Selectboard gives the go ahead to proceed with the proposed design, VHB will finalize the design and prepare the bid package. Construction should be completed by Fall 2024.

The Town applied for a MassWorks grant for the entire project but was rejected because we didn’t have sufficient permitted new residential or commercial development in the project area. The Selectboard will be looking into whether or not to apply to be part of the MassDOT TIP program for the remainder of the project. This program was used for the E Princeton Village Rt 140 project.
