FROM THE TOWN OF PRINCETON SOLAR FARM WORKING GROUP:
The Annual Town Meeting Warrant includes an Article that asks if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectboard to lease the site of the former Town landfill to a solar energy developer for construction and operation of a solar energy generation facility, through a competitive bidding process.
If the Article is approved, the Selectboard will have the option to lease this otherwise unused asset to generate revenue, with minimal cost, risk or responsibility to the Town, and with additional benefits of gaining climate resiliency by encouraging local renewable energy production.
