Princeton Fire Department Update: Keeping the community safe with Tactical Emergency Response Training

Princeton Fire Department spent the weekend training in the Tactical Emergency Response Training with Princeton Police, Rutland Police and two Wachusett Regional District nurses.  Princeton Fire sponsored the event that was partially paid for by a grant from Massachusetts Emergency Management.  Outside attendees paid the differential for their individual slots.  We were all trained to a level beyond FEMA ASHER 3000.  This means that all certified members will qualify to be instructors in "STOP THE BLEED" programs and their certifications exceed federal standards.  This program was a 16-hour program with classroom and labs on Saturday and Sunday at the Thomas Prince School.  Pictures attached show some of the work we did in treating gunshot and stab wounds, rapid extrication measures, tactical gear and emergency medical procedures to reduce casualties in an active shooter event.

This is the first of many programs we will sponsor in keeping our community and surrounding communities safe.
