Important Voter Deadlines, In-Person Early Voting Schedule and Voting Equipment Test Day for March 5th Presidential Primary

Important Voter Deadlines

Voter Registration/Party Affiliation Change Deadline: 5:00 PM, Saturday, February 24, 2024.

  • You can check your voting status, register to vote and change your party status online at https://www.sec.state.ma.us/OVR/
  • A special registration session will be held at the Town Clerk’s office on Saturday, February 24th from 9:00am-5:00pm for Princeton residents who wish to register or change their party status in person.
  • You may also register to vote in person during normal business hours at the Town Clerk’s office. Office hours are Mon.-Wed. 8am-4pm and Thursday 8am-2pm.
  • You may print and complete a mail-in voter registration form. Please return completed forms to the Town Clerk’s Office. Mail-In Voter Registration Form available at https://www.sec.state.ma.us/divisions/elections/download/voter-registration-forms/voter-registration_English.pdf

Mail-In Ballot Application Deadline: 5:00 PM, Tuesday, February 27th, 2024

  • You can apply for a Mail-In Ballot online at https://www.sec.state.ma.us/MailInRequestWeb/MailInBallot.aspx
  • Or complete and return your Vote-By-Mail postcard by the deadline to the Town Clerk’s Office. 
  • Mail-In Ballots CANNOT be dropped off at the polling place on election day. Please return your mail-in ballot to the Town Clerk’s Office, before the close of polls. You may do so by mail, in person, or you may drop off your ballot in the secured white ballot Dropbox at the front of Town Hall.

Deadline to Vote Absentee In-Person: 12:00 PM, Monday, March 4th, 2024

  • If Voting Absentee In-Person, you must complete the In-Person Absentee ballot application, available at the Town Clerk’s Office, and be able to vote in person. You may not leave with a ballot to complete and return later.
  • Absentee ballots are available to those who can’t get to the polls on March 5, 2024. For more information on eligibility, please visit https://www.sec.state.ma.us/divisions/elections/voting-information/absentee-voting.htm

In Person Early Voting Schedule for the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary:

  • Saturday,  February 24th 9:30am-1:30pm
  • Monday, February 26th 9am-11:00am
  • Tuesday, February 27th, 9:00am-11:00am
  • Wednesday, February 28th, 9am-11:00am
  • Thursday, February 29th, 9am-11:00am

In-Person Early Voting will be held at Princeton Town Hall, 6 Town Hall Drive, Princeton, MA 01541. 

Voting Equipment Test Day: 1PM, Thursday, February 22nd, 2024.

  • The DS200 vote tabulator and Automark will be tested with sample ballots for the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary (per 950 CMR 54.02) at 1PM on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024 in the Princeton Town Hall at 6 Town Hall Drive, Princeton MA 01541.
