FAQS:

Mail-In Ballot: Vote By Mail vs. Absentee Application

Vote By Mail: Any Princeton registered voter can request a mail-in ballot, including voters who may be out of town on election day. In your application, please be sure to include a mailing address, if it differs from your residential address.

Absentee: Available to voters who qualify. For example, a voter may have a religious belief that prevents the voter from voting at the polling location on Election day, or a voter may have a disability.

All requests for mail-in ballots must be in writing and received in the Town Clerk’s Office no later than 5pm on Tuesday, February 27th.

Please be aware, if you have not received your requested mail-in ballot, it may be due to one of the following reasons:

  • You are an UNENROLLED voter (no party affiliation), and you did not choose which Party ballot you wanted, either Democratic, Republican or Libertarian. If that is the case, your request for a primary ballot is on hold until you select a Party ballot. You may not choose more than one Party ballot.
  • You did not sign your postcard. Your voter signature is required before your application can be processed.
  • You signed the postcard but did not select an election that you would like a mail-in ballot for.
  • Your application is currently in queue to be processed into central voter registration system. Complete applications will be processed into the CVR system first. Letters will be mailed out to voters who have sent incomplete applications in the following weeks.
  • We have not received your request.
  • Any questions or concerns, please contact the Town Clerk at townclerk@town.princeton.ma.us or 978-464-2103.

Polls will be open from 7:00am-8:00pm at the Thomas Prince School on Election Day. More information to be posted when available.
