The Princeton Cultural Council (PCC) announces that the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) opens its grant application process on September 1, 2022.  You must apply online by October 15, 2022.

The PCC requires that a performer or artist have a local sponsor. Examples include the library, the Thomas Prince School, the Princeton Arts Society, Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary, the Congregational Church, the Historical Society, and so on.

The PCC welcomes proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs.  These grants can support a variety of artistic projects and activities in Princeton including exhibits, festivals, short-term artist residencies, performances and visiting artists in schools, workshops and lectures.  We encourage all art forms to apply.

Last year, the PCC distributed about $5,200 in grants. The MCC provided funding for a variety of local projects including the Environmental Speaker Series, The Jellyfish: How to Pastel Paint, Reading is Magic with Ed the Wizard, Animal Adventures, Hip Swayers Concerts, Worcester Chamber Music Society, and Outdoor Spaces.

The PCC is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year.  The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the MCC, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community.

For application forms and more information about the MCC and PCC, see www.mass-culture.org and https://massculturalcouncil.org/local-council/princeton/

We are looking for new members to join the PCC.  If you are interested, email Hannah Hall-Alicandro, PCC Chairperson for more information at hghallalicandro@gmail.com.

The PCC is thrilled to help bring cultural programming to our community.

These programs are supported in part by a grant from the Princeton Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
