SHINE (Serving Health Information Needs)
The SHINE program provides free, unbiased and up-to-date health insurance information, counseling and assistance to Medicare beneficiaries of all ages and their caregivers.

SHINE counselors  are trained and certified by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs in many areas of health benefits. SHINE Counselors provide information on Medicare (Part A & Part B), Medigap insurance, Medicare HMOs, retiree insurance plans, Medicaid and free or reduced cost health care programs.

Call the Senior Center at 978 464-5977 to make an appointment with the SHINE counselor.

Library Services
The Princeton Library will deliver any circulation materials to seniors by calling the library at 978 464-2115. A staff member or community volunteer will bring requested materials to the senior’s home.

Meals on Wheels
Meals are available through the Council on Aging and are delivered by volunteers. Call the Council On Aging for details.

Wachusett Food Pantry
The food pantry has a monthly distribution for seniors on the third Friday of each month from 9-11AM. The pantry is located at the Cream Crock Distributors, Rt 12, Sterling MA. Proof of residency is all that is required, driver’s license, utility bill, etc.

Handicap/Medical Equipment
The Council on Aging has equipment available for people to use on a short or long term basis at no charge. Call the Senior Center at (978) 464-5977.

Safe Seniors
The goal of this program is to reach out to seniors and those with disabilities during emergencies such as severe weather or prolonged power outages. During these emergencies the Council on Aging will check up on the participants by telephone or other means and notify the proper authorities should there be a need for medical assistance, food, etc. If you would like to be on the list or know someone who should be included please send a note to the Council on Aging.
