Selectboard Meeting Minutes

March 28, 2024

Town Hall Annex

Attending: Karen Cruise (KC), Robert Cumming (RC), Phil Gott (PG), Town Administrator, Sherry Patch (SP)

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 1:00 PM.

The Selectboard convened a meeting of department heads to discuss various topics and to gather input on priorities for FY 25. Building Maintenance Superintendent Phil Connors updated the board on the Center School conditions. Phil advised that it was recently brought to his attention that roofing is blowing off the building. Phil further advised that water has infiltrated the interior of the building and that ceilings are coming down. Highway Superintendent Ben Metcalf expressed concern regarding the condition of the old salt barn/cold storage, and field maintenance issues at Krashes field. The Thomas Prince Snack Shack is also in need of repairs. Phil also noted the 4 windowpanes are missing at Mechanics Hall. SP recommended placing an article on the Annual Town Meeting Warrant to conduct an evaluation of town owned buildings that can assist with prioritizing capital building needs and will also assist with identifying potential grant opportunities to address the needs and costs. KC stated that we could hire a salvager to clean out the Center School and remove anything of value. Discussed recruitment and retainage of employees. Library Director Paula Korsvedt sent an email suggesting offering paid time off (sick time and pro-rated holiday pay) to part-time staff for days.

KC moved to adjourn the meeting. RC 2nd. Meeting adjourned at 2:45 PM.
