Council on Aging Updates/Happenings
The Princeton Council on Aging is excited to announce that we will begin holding outdoor fitness classes beginning in July. Contact the senior center at (978) 464-5977 to sign-up for these classes and to be included on our notification list for class cancellations/changes. Please see below for a complete schedule. Classes will be held on the field behind the former Princeton Center building located at 18 Boylston Avenue. Bathroom facilities will be available.
Fitness class participants should be mindful to maintain a social distance of at least 6 feet. Participants should wear a mask to and from class and when social distancing is not possible, however masks are not required during active exercise. Please be sure to bring your own water and wear sunscreen and bug spray.
In the event of inclement weather, participants will be notified via phone and an announcement will be made on the Council on Aging website, Facebook page and NextDoor Princeton. As COVID-19 remains an ever-changing situation, this class schedule is subject to change.
Princeton Senior Center - Summer Outdoor Fitness Class Schedule
Taiji with George Chase - Mondays beginning 7/6 @ 9:00 AM - $5 suggested donation. Drop-in and learn the basics of taiji (tai chi), an ancient Chinese tradition that, today, is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. Wear comfortable clothing and sneakers.
Strengthen, Stretch and Balance with Diane Moore - Mondays beginning 7/13 @ 10:00 AM -- $5 suggested donation. Improve posture, strengthen the core, back and hips and extremities and increase range of motion in joints. This class will include both standing and floor exercises. Bring your own mat and yoga belt.
Senior Fitness and Yoga with Marty French - Tuesday July 14th and 28th at 10:30AM – $5 suggested donation Join us for these special outdoor sessions of Senior Fitness and Yoga...exercise and education for any level participant. Marty is certified in cardio conditioning, strength training yoga and meditation. Fitness should be fun! Laughter included in every class. Please bring your own mat.
Walking Group - Thursdays 9:00 AM -- Join our weekly Walking Group for 2-3 mile walks in the neighborhood surrounding the senior center. Meet in the Senior Center parking lot.
