Princeton’s Environmental Action Committee is pleased to announce its fourth Environmental Speaker Series Event: Building Princeton’s Resilience to Climate Change. Join us virtually on December 9, 2021 at 7p to learn more about the impact of climate change on Princeton and how Princeton is preparing to address climate vulnerabilities through the Commonwealth’s Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (“MVP”)  grant program.

This event will feature two guest speakers:

Hillary King is an MVP Regional Coordinator who administers and provides technical assistance on State MVP Grants. With a particular interest in researching nature-based solutions, a foundation in landscape architecture and planning, experience working with engineers on public infrastructure projects, and now working for the Commonwealth, Hillary strives to assist communities to plan for and achieve a more resilient future in our changing climate.

Dani Marini is an Associate Environmental Planner with the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC). Since joining CMRPC in 2020, Dani Marini has led, assisted, or helped author MVP projects in eleven Central Massachusetts communities. Dani has been instrumental in Princeton’s MVP planning project, facilitating community workshops and listening sessions, and helping to author Princeton’s MVP Plan.

The presentations will focus on the impact of climate change on Princeton, the MVP Program, MVP grant opportunities, and Princeton’s MVP planning process, results and next steps. Following the presentations will be an opportunity for questions and community input.
