Board of Health

Important Information about the Flu Vaccine

Please make sure you receive your flu shot this season at your primary care physicians office or at one of the many local pharmacies that provide the flu shot.

At this time, The Massachusetts Department of Public Health Immunization Program will only be supplying influenza vaccine for children less than 19 years of age and for UNINSURED adults seen at public provider sites. Cities and Towns that want to administer vaccine to adults with insurance will need to privately purchase these doses. The board does not anticipate buying any vaccines. The residents seen at past flu clinics have their own insurance and would be able to receive their shots elsewhere. For those residents that are uninsured, the BOH department can make arrangements through other means to make sure our shut in population has access to the vaccine. Please call the BOH office if you have any questions. (978) 464-2104
