Facilities Steering Committee Phase II Charge:
FSC phase II is charged with developing and executing a communication and education plan to prepare voters for a fall special town meeting to secure funding for the development of plans & construction documents for a new public safety building to be built at the Princeton center school site and that may or may not incorporate part of the old building.



BACKGROUND:
The Facilities Steering Committee was established by the Board of Selectmen, after advertising a Call for Facilites Steering Committee members. Please click here to be linked to the advertisement and the Committee's charge.

On August 2, 2017 the Facilities Steering Committee released an Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for a Needs Assessment and Four Buildings Master Plan. A copy of the RFQ can be obtained by clicking here. RFQ's were due September 18, 2017.

Five firms submitted proposals under the RFQ's. The Facilities Steering Committee evaluated the 5 submissions and determined that it wished to interview 3 of the firms. The interviews were scheduled for Tuesday, October 10th in the Town Hall Annex. Below is the interview schedule, the firm names, and link to a copy of their respective submission:

On October 11, 2017, the Facilities Steering Committee voted to recommend Jones Whitsett Architects for selection to the Board of Selectmen. On October 16th the Board of Selectmen voted to to select Jones Whitsett Architects (JWA) in accordance with the Town’s Designer Selection procedures.

A kick-off meeting with JWA was held on Wednesday, October 25th at 5:30 PM in the Town Hall Annex. Please click here for a copy of the kick-off meeting minutes by JWA.

During the early part of November, JWA will meet with town departments and committees, as need, to begin the needs assessment.

After several months of meetings by the FSC, including but not limited to several public meetings to solicit feedback from residents, and building facility tours, and work by JWA, the Final Report was released.
